Registry Winner is a multi-lingual registry repair software package that is designed to scan and repair the registry of a computer to seek out files that are causing clashes and issues and generally slowing the performance of the computer. The main files that are located and removed are invalid references, broken links and incomplete files like some font files and as such the computer processing becomes more streamlined.

However Registry Winner includes more than just registry clean up as it is designed to provide a complete optimization package. They have done this with the additional elements that are packaged together in a ‘PC Optimizer ToolKit’ which contains Startup Manager, Uninstall Manager, System Optimizer, Memory Optimizer and Service Optimizer. It should be noted that these are items that exist within the Windows environment but the idea is that by having everything together in one place and in one software package the user has more control over the system. In addition there are bonus items not typically found in registry cleanup software, namely a junk file remover, a file shredder and privacy safeguard. All useful for reducing exposure risks to the system.

I did some basic testing with it on a virtual machine...it actually didn't seem to do any "bad" stuff. And it did seem to find legit registry problems.

So I'm not sure about it. But I'd recommend you not to use Registry Winner.”

Registry Winner is another total system optimization package designed to focus primarily on cleaning and fixing the registry. It is the only one that is multilingual which is a positive and it also offers more than just registry cleanup with features like file shredding, IE Doctor and junk file remover. However, this unfortunately is another software package that appears to deliver more problems with spyware and adware than it could ever fix in registry performance. Therefore the only conclusion is to avoid it.

Reimage is hard to categorize as it isn’t the typical registry cleaning product but markets itself as a Window’s platform repairer. It works by doing a free scan to identify what issues exist in the operating system, any operating system files that need updating and if there are any Trojans, pop ups, viruses or spam that need to be deleted. It is an 'All in One Program' designed to do the whole lot.

At this point instead of being offered a one off purchase and download option, Reimage offers the option to pay for a one time fix/repair. It is possible to get a refund if unsatisfied with the result but in general the service is like employing a remote technician to do a one-off fix for a fraction of the price.

The idea being that this will not only correct all the obvious issues but tune the system in the process so further scans and fixes are not required for quite some time, if at all.

The repair is achieved by removing all the damaged and broken files and replacing them with ones from Reimage’s ‘spare parts repository’.

For the individual Reimage seems a bit more pricey than thoe others but essential and well worth the cost if you want to get the job done properly.

As a computer technician visiting client sites it can be used as if proprietary software.
