Registry Fix

RegistryFix is a software tool to get your computer operating at 100% efficiency by finding and removing unnecessary registry files. These include all the broken links, missing DLL files, left over files from uninstalling software and broken font files.

Basically it looks for any files that might cause the system to break. The additional elements of the package are designed to make it a system management tool. They have therefore included their own Add/Remove Program Manager, Startup Program Manager, Browser Help Object Manager and Full Registry Backup Utility.

Obviously the last item is critical when playing around the core elements of the operating system as it means the system can be restored back to the point prior to running the RegistryFix if need be. RegistryFix has live chat support available from
5am to 11pm EST otherwise support is via email. They also offer as an additional extra at the point of sale the opportunity to pay for lifelong updates to the software.

  Actual Customer Feedback

“About reg cleaners - I used RegistryFix after I read a few good reviews before trying it on workshop PC's. Its not free, but When ever I run it on a customers PC there is a noticeable speed increase. (then uninstall the program) I think from memory it lets you alter the first 50.  Usually its on XP. Just tried it on Vista found 112 - no ill effects so far.”

“Yes the registry cleaners will work. But, I advise using more than one on your computer. Registry Fix, Registry Mechanic, R-Wipe And Clean are the ones I use.”

“You buy the full version, then run it, and your cumputer stops working. Simple as that. Not a legit program. Stay clear.”

“Registry Fix is one of the most popular registry cleaners among the internet marketers. But sadly, it is also one of the most overrated and overhyped products out there. Instead of being a solution in a rainy day, many of its shortcomings become a burden to you and your system. Simply, Registry Fix badly needs a fix more than your system do.”

“1. Install from trial to full version is terrible
2. After getting software installed, needed to run with different credentials so it doesn't error our
3. After running scan, fixed errors (can't choose which ones) it made my system un-usable”

Overall Recommendations

It is impossible to give RegistryFix a positive recommendation as there is a large body of evidence that the software doesn’t deliver what it promises and in many cases it breaks the system. The website is limited in information, both on how the software looks, feels and operates and also who and what the company is. This lends more credence to the large number of reports that people have failed to get any support, refunds or even functional software.

ReImage

Reimage is hard to categorize as it isn’t the typical registry cleaning product but markets itself as a Window’s platform repairer. It works by doing a free scan to identify what issues exist in the operating system, any operating system files that need updating and if there are any Trojans, pop ups, viruses or spam that need to be deleted. It is an 'All in One Program' designed to do the whole lot.

At this point instead of being offered a one off purchase and download option, Reimage offers the option to pay for a one time fix/repair. It is possible to get a refund if unsatisfied with the result but in general the service is like employing a remote technician to do a one-off fix for a fraction of the price.

The idea being that this will not only correct all the obvious issues but tune the system in the process so further scans and fixes are not required for quite some time, if at all.

The repair is achieved by removing all the damaged and broken files and replacing them with ones from Reimage’s ‘spare parts repository’.

For the individual Reimage seems a bit more pricey than thoe others but essential and well worth the cost if you want to get the job done properly.

As a computer technician visiting client sites it can be used as if proprietary software.
