Reimage: Reimage is not a typical registry repair software but more of a computer technician’s tool for fixing machines that have issues both in the registry and the operating system. It works by first running a scan through the Reimage website which identifies what the issues are.
Once completed you then have the option to buy a repair key to fix it all. Reimage fundamentally repairs by removing broken/damaged files and replacing them from its ‘spare parts repository’.

Registry Easy 

Registry Easy: Registry Easy is a fairly complete software bundle designed to make your computer run efficiently and thus faster. It covers a whole range of areas of cleaning up though primarily focuses on cleaning up the registry to remove unwanted or unnecessary files. These include uninstalled program files left behind, broken font files and invalid shortcuts. In addition there are several management tools for fixing other key areas like Internet Explorer, Startup Manager and managing ActiveX.

RegCure: RegCure is a fairly comprehensive software package designed to check the registry and detect issues that could be causing the computer to have degraded performance. Such items include empty registry keys, uninstalled entries that didn’t fully uninstall and invalid shell extensions. The software gives the user quite a high degree of control and customization with the ability to schedule scans and predetermine lists of items to be ignored with backup and restore points automatically created.

RegGenie

RegGenie: RegGenie is one of the more basic bundles of software sold to scan and clean up the computer registry. It does have a fair set of functionality in terms of managing what is scanned and when, and also allows for some personalization of the scan process. Equally it includes additional items like Startup Manager but you will need to buy the full set rather than relying on the free option to gain any real benefit.

Registry Fix: Registry Fix is available as a free check scan but it merely identifies where and what the issues are in the registry, you have to buy the full version to then get the fixes done. The software is designed to seek out the invalid entries in the registry such as broken DLLs, font files and runtime errors. They have included some additional features which include Startup Program Manager, Add/Remove Program Manager, and Browser Helper Object Manager.

Error Fix: Error Fix software trial version scans the registry to check for broken files that could be slowing down the computer. It doesn’t do any fixes, the full paid version is required for that. The full version provides the ability to schedule scans and customize what is included or excluded. Error Fix includes the addition of creating backups and restore points which is a good security measure in the event of a scan causing operational problems.

Reg Tool: RegTOOL is a software packaged designed to find and repair broken and incorrect files in the registry that could be causing the computer to be running poorly. There is a free download version that can do an initial scan but it is limited and only the full version offers the ability to fix the issues. In addition to the basic scanning and repairing, RegTOOL offers additional elements to improve performance including defragmentation and internet optimization.

Redefense: RegDefense is a windows 32-bit and 64-bit compatible software package that reputedly provides the ability to scan and cleanup the registry of your computer. This theoretically makes it operate more efficiently. RegDefense also offers the ability schedule scans and delivers an error report at the end to enable the user to see what has been found and dealt with. In the event that there are issues RegDefense also includes an automatic backup and restore points.

Registry Winner: Registry Winner is a multi-lingual registry cleaner software package designed to streamline your computer system. The free download scanner only allows for fixing 4 problems found so it is essential to buy the full package in order to get any benefit. The package delivers more than just registry cleaning though as it focuses on system management as a whole with options like PC and IE optimization and security/privacy issues with file shredding and ‘Privacy Safeguard’.

Error Nuker

This one is last on the list for a good reason, a very good reason. The makers of Error Nuker must have been asleep when the class was presented on how to make a program the masses desire. The software promises to do great things in the way of cleaning the registry and removing invalid registry types, yet this is not the case. It does not do a very good job of removing even half of the located items! It is a poorly produced product and should be seen as a last resort option for the cleaning of the registry.
